Pakistan keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan opened up about his batting position in the ODIs. He said that he’s not happy batting at No.5 but what the captain and coach will say he will agree to them as he has been sacrificing a lot and is ready to do that. 

Mohammad Rizwan is currently playing the ODI series against New Zealand. The batter of late has been one of the best batters going around in the world of cricket and has been consistently scoring runs for his team in all three formats.

Rizwan has looked in decent touch in the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand. He played two staggering knocks and guided his side to win. The keeper-batter played an unbeaten knock of 42 runs in 34 balls in the first game before registering an unbeaten 41-ball 54 runs to take his side to victory.

Rizwan said that he wants to bat at No.4 as it’s his wish. But it’s not important as whatever the team asks him to do he will do it. Speaking to the reporters in the press conference, he said:

“If you ask me honestly, I am not happy batting at number five [in ODIs], because I want to bat at number four. But it is not important that I get what I want. Captain and coach will do what they like. It is my own wish to bat at number four.”

Mohammad Rizwan further went on to say that he has been sacrificing a lot for the last 15 or 16 years and is ready to do what the skipper and coach ask him.

“But I have not complained to anyone. I have been sacrificing for last 15 or 16 years and still not complaining. We are ready to do what captain and coach asks us to do,” he said.

Mohammad Rizwan’s record at No.4 is however very impressive. In 20 innings, he has scored 742 runs at an average of 43.64 to go with two centuries and five fifties.
