Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja has signed a code of conduct to get a monthly pension of PKR 154,000 as a former Test cricketer and it prohibits speaking against Pakistan cricket. Salman Butt criticized Rameez Raja for signing the PCB code of conduct, accusing him of wanting a pension or being eager, to tell the truth.

Ramiz Raja had requested for a monthly pension under the PCB players’ welfare policy as he had reached the age of 60. Cricketers who have represented Pakistan in 10 or fewer Test matches will now be eligible for a monthly pension of PKR 142,000 under the PCB’s new policy, while players who have played in 11 to 20 Test matches would receive PKR 148,000.

You’re In Broadcasting For The Last 15-20 Years – Salman Butt

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Butt said that the former cricketer would remain silent for only 600 dollars. Butt pointed out that Raja has several sources of income, including a YouTube channel and commentary.

“You used to say, how can someone speak? We give them money. Now, you have to take the money and how much? For 600 dollars you had to sign the code of conduct. You’ll keep quiet for hardly 600 dollars? If you are right and ready to fight for truth, then what are 600 dollars? He speaks about the pension,” Salman Butt said.

There Is Pressure, Especially On Captain Babar Azam – Salman Butt

Salman Butt believes the team will be under pressure to perform well in the white-ball series against New Zealand, especially Babar Azam, whose captaincy has come under fire after losing the Test matches at home.

“There is pressure, especially on captain Babar Azam. The management knows whether good or bad, they will be replaced. As far as the captain is concerned, he is under pressure and he’s made to feel it every day. This is not good for the team and players, especially when there is uncertainty about the captaincy. How long is he there?”
