The 22-year-old Pakistan pacer Mohammad Hasnain has been cleared to bowl in international cricket once again after his bowling action was assessed, where he bowled three overs under supervision, and it was found that his elbow extension has dropped within the allowable limit, as per a report in ESPNcricinfo.

Notably, his elbow extension has come down to 12-13 degrees from the earlier flex of 17-24 degrees. Mohammad Hasnain’s bowling action was declared illegal on February 4 and he was banned from cricket by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had decided to assign its high-performance coach, Umar Rasheed, to work with the young pacer at Lahore’s High-Performance Centre.

Earlier, an assessment had found that Mohammad Hasnain used to rotate his arm to swing the ball and the inconsistent process caused a jerk. The pacer’s new bowling action remains the same though his wrist, arm rotation and landing have been tweaked enabling him to bowl with consistent and repeatable action.

Also, the Pakistan high-performance coach, Umar Rasheed, helped the young pacer rework his alignment and Mohammad Hasnain had bowled over 5000 balls and practised shadow bowling.

The pacer has been away from competitive cricket for a very long time, after his suspension, but Umar Rasheed feels that the new action of the pacer is repeatable and he is stronger than ever.

The young right-arm fast bowler has played 8 One Day International games and 18 T20 International games for Pakistan National Cricket Team and has bagged 12 and 17 wickets respectively. He also bagged a hat-trick in T20I cricket.
