Pakistan batsman Umar Akmal had returned to club cricket after PCB had allowed him as a part of the rehabilitation programme that he had been undergoing. Umar Akmal was earlier banned for three years by the Pakistan Cricket Board for not informing the spot-fixing approach made to him during the Pakistan Super League.

His ban was reduced earlier this year after showing good progress signs in the rehabilitation process and is likely to resume Pakistan’s domestic cricket activities for the upcoming 2021-2022 season. The 31-year-old had played for Pakistan in 16 tests, 121 ODIs, and 84 T20Is after making his debut in 2009. He could add just 5 runs to the scoreboard after returning to the club cricket activity.

Umar Akmal Looking Forward To Giving His Best

Umar Akmal expressed his desire in giving his best in domestic cricket and making a strong case for himself in the international circuit among the selectors. He added that he will work on his performances rather than worrying about his selection.

“I want to move forward now. I will try to give my best performances in domestic cricket now that I have been granted permission to play again. Being selected in the side depends on the selectors. My job is to perform well,” Akmal said.
