Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel revealed another interesting reason for the Indian team’s success and credited the cash-rich tournament for the close bonding. India managed to get off the mark in the five-match Test series against England with a win at the Lord’s in the second Test.

The Virat Kohli-led team showed a lot of character and aggression in their fast bowling department which helped them immensely to throw pressure on the English side. At one stage, India looked like losing out to England, but the new-look Indian side boasts of a lot of energy which doesn’t say no at any point of the challenge.

Parthiv Patel Highlights The Closeness Of The Indian Dressing Room

Parthiv Patel pointed out that the Indian dressing room contains a lot of different characters roaming along with each other’s company and that will certainly help in the team bonding. He included the examples of Ishant and Umesh together while Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya from different regions of India getting along,

“If you look at the Indian dressing room as of now, you see Ishant Sharma roaming around with Virat Kohli. But, you also see Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav, both different characters move around. Rishabh Pant goes out with Hardik Pandya, one is from the west, the other is from the north. There are a few guys from the east I think,” Parthiv Patel on Players Lounge Podcast.

Parthiv Patel Credits IPL For the Success

Parthiv Patel also mentioned the language barriers that could have separated the dressing room which wasn’t the case as IPL helped it immensely. He noted the closeness of Tamil Nadu’s Dinesh Karthik and the Pandya Brothers from Gujarat making the whole dressing room environment look good when they played for the Mumbai Indians.

“If you look at Dinesh Karthik and Hardik/ Krunal Pandya, they are best of friends. One can’t speak English, one can’s speak Hindi and still they get along really well. I think why the Indian team is doing really well in this era is because they gel really well together and IPL has to get credit for it as well,” he added.
