However, Ramiz would also play in the slip position due to the rank system, which gave him the advantage over the other players on the list because his father was a police commissioner, according to a significant disclosure made by Akram. Akram claimed that Ramiz would miss more catches than he would make as he recalled a Test match against New Zealand.

“He dropped more than he caught”: Wasim Akram

While Akram’s autobiography mentions some of his career’s highlights and unforgettable moments, the book also sheds light on some startling facts. Ramiz Raja, the current chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, was one of them.

“The first was given the next day by Asif Faridi, a local quick; the second was thrown to me.” I was in my fourth over when New Zealand skipper John Wright nicked to Ramiz at the second slip” Wasim Akram Wrote.

“Despite his batting prowess, Ramiz was assigned to slip for a variety of reasons, including his father’s position as a commissioner and his attendance at Aitchison College. “He dropped more than he caught, actually,” Wasim Akram remarked.

In 104 Test matches for Pakistan, Akram took 414 wickets, which is still the most of any bowler from that country. Additionally, he took 502 wickets in 356 ODIs.
