Revealed: India's Coaching Staff For Limited Overs Tour To Sri Lanka

Team India‘s second-string white-ball team will hit the ground when it tours Sri Lanka for a six-match series next month. Shikhar Dhawan will be captaining the team, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been named the vice-captain. It was confirmed that Rahul Dravid will be the head coach of this team and now the remaining coaching staff names have been revealed as well.

The India-Sri Lanka white-ball series will kick off on July 13. The three ODIs will be played on July 13, 16, and 18. Following the ODIs, the two teams will square off in three T20Is on July 21, 23, and 25. And all the games will be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The India squad for the Sri Lanka tour will also have a new coaching staff at the helm as Ravi Shastri and his team is in England with the Test side.

India To Have Paras Mhambrey As The Bowling Coach, T Dilip As Fielding Coach On Sri Lanka Tour

Rahul Dravid, who was part of the national squad when India played two international matches at the same time (in 1998), will be coaching the national side for the second time in his career.

Rahul Dravid’s first stint with the national side came in 2014 when he went on the England tour, but since then he has been working on building a strong bench for the national side. He coached India U-19 and India A teams from 2015 to 2019. He is presently the head of the National Cricket Academy.

Joining him on the coaching roster will be Paras Mhambrey as bowling coach, Sudheer Asnani as the team manager, and T Dilip as the fielding coach.

Two National Selectors To Accompany Team India On Sri Lanka Tour

Not only will the India team have a new coaching staff for the Sri Lanka tour, but two national selectors will also go with the team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked two selectors of the Chetan Sharma-headed selection panel, Abey Kuruvilla and Debasis Mohanty, to accompany the Shikhar Dhawan-led side to Sri Lanka.

Both of them are already in Mumbai and quarantining with the other members of the touring party, which was confirmed by a BCCI official to Cricbuzz.
