In what is a proud moment for the entire nation, star weightlifter Mirabai Chanu has become the first media for Team India in Tokyo Olympics.
Mirabai Chanu won the Silver medal in the Weight 49 Kg category as she overcame the heartbreak of the last Olympics.
The champion athlete managed to lift a total of 202 kg in the women’s 49 kg category to become the second Indian weightlifter after Karnam Malleswari to win an Olympic medal.
Mirabai created a new Olympic record with a successful lift of 115 kg in clean and jerk.
I am really happy on winning silver medal in #Tokyo2020 for my country ?? pic.twitter.com/gPtdhpA28z

Chanu began with an 84 kg lift in the first attempt in a snatch segment. She later improved by lifting 87 kg to put herself into a commanding position. But China’s Zhihui Hou proceeded to hit her straps as she lifted 87 kg in the first attempt before creating an Olympic record by lifting 94 kg in the third.
Nevertheless, life has come a full circle for Mirabai Chanu, who endured poor performance despite high hopes in 2016, and not she, but the entire country is proud of what she achieved on Saturday.
Here is how the Cricket fraternity is congratulating Mirabai Chanu for her record feat at Tokyo 2020:
Ghazab.
