Saurashtra Batsman And Former U-19 Captain Avi Barot Dies Due To Cardiac Arrest Aged 29

Popular Saurashtra batsman and former India U-19 captain Avi Barot suffered a surprising cardiac arrest at the age of 29 and has unexpectedly died on Friday. Avi Barot has been a consistent performer in the domestic circuit for a long time now and he was also part of the winning team in Saurashtra in the 2019/20 Ranji Trophy season.

Having made his debut in 2011, Avi Barot has played 38 first-class games and has managed to score one century as well. His experience is one of the biggest assets and his contributions to the side have always been valued a lot despite him averaging just under 25. His domestic T20 numbers are far better and look more respectable too with an average of over 37.

Saurashtra Cricket Association Expresses Condolence

Saurashtra cricket Association mentioned that they were deeply shocked and surprised by the sudden demise of Avi Barot and heaped praises on the player’s talent as a cricketer. They revealed the exact date of the happening and paid tribute to his services to the state as a senior cricketer. They revealed the reason as Cardiac arrest for his sudden demise.

Everyone at Saurashtra Cricket Association (is) deeply shocked and saddened on (the) very shocking untimely and extremely sad demise of Avi Barot, a remarkable and notable cricketer of Saurashtra.”

“He left for heavenly abode in the evening of 15th October 2021, due to severe cardiac arrest,” the SCA stated in a media release issued here

“Avi Barot Was A Very Friendly And Noble Human Being” – Jaydev Shah

Jaydev Shah, the SCA president mentioned that he is absolutely shock and pained by the sudden demise of Avi Barot and added that Avi Barot was one of the remarkable performers in domestic cricket. He also reckoned that Barot had a good heart naturally.

“This is absolutely shocking and painful to learn about Avi’s sad demise. He was a great teammate and had great cricketing skills. In all recent domestic matches, he had performed remarkably well.”
