New Zealand are still led by Mitchell Santner in the absence of Kane Williamson who is still nursing his long-standing elbow injury. Under him, the side produced a fascinating performance scoring 225/5 with the bat and restricting the opposition to 157/8. Opener Fin Allen scored his maiden ton to take his side to that score.
“It was [on the performance], the wicket started to spin a little bit which was nice to see. Smallish ground and he [Finn Allen] showed glimpses of what he can do in the Ireland series, with the way he is going serves us well. Think the depth in our squad shows, the guys coming through have shown what they can do and it’s great for our future” said skipper Santner.
