SCO vs ZIM Live Streaming- Zimbabwe Tour of Scotland 2021, 1st T20I. The first T20 international of the upcoming three-match series between Scotland and Zimbabwe are scheduled to be played at Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh.
As far as the head-to-head record between these two sides in T20 international is concerned, Zimbabwe have won the only match played between them in the history of the shortest format. It took place during an ICC 2015-16 T20 World Cup fixture which Zimbabwe won by 11 runs.
Ahead of the T20 World Cup, the upcoming series will be great preparation for both sides and also an opportunity to finalize their best possible 11.
Zimbabwe are coming into the series on the back of a 3-2 T20I series defeat at the hands of Ireland. The ODI series, though, ended in a 1-1 draw.
In the recent five-match T20 series between Zimbabwe and Ireland, the former took the early lead after winning the first game by 3 runs but went on to lose the next three. Zimbabwe had the better of Ireland in the last match of the series but eventually lost the series by a 2-3 margin.
Among the key batsmen for the upcoming three-match T20 series, Craig Erwine has to be at the top. He will be the most important batsman for Zimbabwe, especially the kind of form he is in at the moment.
He scored the most runs for Zimbabwe in both T20s and ODIs against Ireland. Besides, the likes of Ryan Burl, Milton Shumba, and Regis Chakabva are going to be key to their fortunes.
In the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Luke Jongwe, Ryan Burl, Wellington Masakadza, and Blessing Muzarabani to pick the bulk of the wickets. Jongwe took 7 wickets in the last five T20 internationals against Ireland. Burl and Masakadza picked 6 and 5 respectively.
Facing them are Scotland, who last played a T20 international during the ICC 2019-20 Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier. They finished at fourth position on the table after the end of the league stage matches. In 6 games, they managed to win 3.
As far as the key batsmen for Scotland in the upcoming T20 series are concerned, George Munsey finds himself right at the top. A lot will be expected from him as he has been the standout batsman for the team. In 8 matches during the aforementioned tournament, Munsey scored 234 runs and finished as the team’s highest run-scorer. The Scottish cricketer has close to 1000 runs in T20 internationals.
Apart from him, the likes of Mark Watt, Alasdair Evans, Josh Davey, and M Sharif are other notable names in the batting line-up. It will be interesting to see how they perform in the first match on Wednesday.
Mark Watt, Alasdair Evans, Josh Davey, and Safyaan Mohammed Sharif are some of the prominent names to watch out for. Safyaan Mohammed Sharif has 49 wickets to his name in T20 internationals.
He was also the highest wicket-taker for Scotland in the 2019-20 Men’s T20 World Cup qualifiers. Mark Watt, another experienced bowler in the squad, has 45 wickets in 35 T20 internationals.
