Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has recovered fully and was named in the Bangladesh squad for the second Test against Pakistan. It’s a much-needed boost after they lost the first Test quite comprehensively.

Apart from Shakib, Mohammad Naim was also included to strengthen up the batting department. The youngster is generally seen as a white-ball specialist but will have a crack at making his name in the longest format of the game.

The 2-match series will conclude in Dhaka, a place where Bangladesh has done very well. In the first Test, their top order failed tremendously in both innings. While they were saved by a Liton Das – Mushfiqur Rahim partnership in the first innings, the second crumbled spectacularly.

Shakib’s addition gives some stability to both departments. As for Naim, he barely has first-class experience having played just six matches and averaging a meager 16.63, including one half-century.

Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed also returned to the squad that is quite dependent on spinners to deliver the goods. Taijul Islam picked up seven wickets in Pakistan’s first innings and will once again be the key on the turning track in Dhaka.
