Shoaib Akhtar Alleges That Indian Team Is Divided Into Two Sections; One With Virat Kohli And The Other One Is Against Him

Former Pakistan bowler Shoaib Akhtar feels that the Indian team is divided into two sections. Before the start of the tournament, India were dubbed as favourites to lift the T20 World Cup in the UAE.

But to everyone’s dismay, India have lost both their games against Pakistan and New Zealand in the mega event, and their chances to qualify for the semis looks very unclear.

One camp in the Indian team is with Virat Kohli and one against him: Shoaib Akhtar

Akhtar alleged that the Indian team has been split into two sections- one that is in favour of Kohli and the other that stands against him.

“Why I can see that there are two camps within the team? One is with the Kohli and one against Kohli. It’s crystal clear. The team is looking divided. I don’t know why this is happening.

“Maybe it’s because of his last T20 World Cup as a skipper. Maybe he made wrong decisions, which is true. But he’s a great cricketer, and we have to respect him,” Akhtar said on his YouTube channel.

India played bad cricket against New Zealand: Shoaib Akhtar

Team India is facing a lot of criticism over their performance in the tournament so far with experts and fans not happy with the approach of Kohli & co.

Akhtar backed the criticism towards the Indian team and said they had given up after losing the toss.

“Yes, criticism is important because they played bad cricket against New Zealand and had the wrong attitude. Yesterday, after they lost the toss, everyone’s heads were down,” Akhtar said.

“They had no idea whatsoever. India, you only lost the toss by that time, not the whole match. They were just present there, and had no gameplan whatsoever,” he added.

India will play their next match against Afghanistan on Wednesday at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

India must win their remaining three games and also depend on some results to go their way if they stand to qualify for the semi-final stage.
