Afghanistan will tour Sri Lank for a three-match ODI series between November 25-30. Three matches will be played in a space of five days. All the matches will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele with the first match on November 25.
The Afghanistan National Team will arrive in Sri Lanka later this month to play an ODI series, which will be a part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League 2023. The Afghan side is slated to reach Sri Lanka on November 22 as per reports.

The tour, which was initially scheduled to be played in February 2023, was shifted to the new schedule as the two respective boards mutually agreed on playing the matches early.
Both teams recently played each other in the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup. Afghanistan beat the Lankans in the Asia Cup while the Lankans evened it up in the T20 World Cup. Sri Lanka were the eventual winner of the Asia Cup.

However, they had a tough time in the T20 World Cup. They played the qualifiers and then could not make it to the semis after an impressive campaign in the Asia Cup. Afghanistan lost all their World Cup games following which Mohammad Nabi resigned as the team’s T20I skipper. Hasmatullah Shahidi will lead the Afghans in the upcoming series. The Lankan Cricket Board are yet to announce their squad for the series.
