Galle is all set to host the second SL vs IRE Test match on April 24. The match starts at 10 am local time. Ireland who lost the first test are looking to win the second Test and draw the series. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, are looking for a clean sweep.
This is the first time both these teams are playing a Test series against each other. Sri Lanka won the first Test by innings and 280 runs. In the process, they completely outplayed the opposition bowling them out for 143 and 168 respectively.
Playing at home, Sri Lanka will be confident of winning the series 2-0 with their big match players in form. Dimuth Karunaratne scored 179 in the previous Test and is the top-scorer in the series so far. Prabath Jayasuriya, the Sri Lankan left-arm spinner took a 10-wicket-haul in the last Test and is looking forward to the second Test.
Ireland will be hosting Bangladesh for a three-match ODI series at home after the end of the Test series. The series is a part of the ICC ODI World Cup Super League. Ireland will need to win the series if they want to maintain their possibility of advancing directly if they defeat the Tigers 3-0.

Meanwhile, Josh Little has been named in the 14-member Irish squad and will be missing a few games for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023 due to national commitments. Little is expected to leave for the ODI series on May 5th, missing the matches against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Mumbai Indians (MI), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
The three-match ODI series will be played on May 9 in Chelmsford, with the second and third matches taking place on May 12 and 14, respectively. Earlier this year, Ireland toured Bangladesh and lost the ODI series 2-1 and the T20I series 2-1. Ireland also lost the only Test played between both sides.

The temperature is expected to be around 30-32 degrees with thunderstorms expected along with rain. Chances are that the Test match might be interrupted due to rain on all five days.
The pitch is expected to turn from the very first day with the spinners from both teams getting into the game early. The batters have the best chance to bat in the first two days and score as many runs as possible.
