SL vs PAK: Pretty Shocking Why Fawad Alam And Faheem Ashraf Have Been Dropped - Kamran Akmal

Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal felt that the Pakistan team management selected the team for the first Test against Sri Lanka poorly. He reckoned senior pro, Fawad Alam, shouldn’t have been dropped.

Yasir Shah returned to the team after recovering from his finger injury while Agha Salman is making his debut in the first Test against the Lankans. Fawad was dropped as he was going through a rough patch.

“It’s a test match not a T20 game…too many Allrounders playing and what i think is test match game is all about specialists…its pretty shocking why @iamfawadalam25 and @iFaheemAshraf both have been dropped #PAKvsSL,” Akmal tweeted.

Alam made his comeback to the Test and has been racking up the runs but he was left out to accommodate all-rounders and provide balance to the playing XI. In his career so far, he has scored 986 runs in 18 Test matches at an average of 41.08 with 5 hundreds.

Agha provides a spin option and considering the surfaces in Sri Lanka will favor the tweakers, the move might pay off. Babar Azam also said he is excited to see how Agha performs having done well in Pakistan’s domestic competitions.
