After Prithvi Shaw’s friend Ashish Surendra Yadav filed a complaint with the Oshiwara Police in Mumbai, Sapna Gill, along with seven others, were accused of attacking Yadav’s car with baseball bats and subsequently threatening them to pay INR 50,000 in exchange for not falsely accusing them.
Sapna, on the other hand, refuted the allegations and claimed that Prithvi Shaw was the one who attempted to assault her and her friends, while also carrying a stick on the streets of the city.

Prithvi Shaw and his friend were having dinner at a five-star hotel in Santacruz when a group of unidentified individuals approached them and requested for a selfie. Shaw obliged and took selfies with two individuals, but when the group returned and demanded selfies with the other members, Shaw refused as he wanted to enjoy dinner with his friends.

Upon insistence, Prithvi Shaw’s friend called the hotel manager to complain, resulting in the group being asked to leave. However, the accused individuals waited outside the hotel and vandalized Shaw’s friend’s BMW car with baseball bats, breaking the front and rear windows of the vehicle.
Prithvi Shaw has been on a break from competitive cricket. He was selected for the T20i team to play a 3-match series against New Zealand at home in January, but despite being included in the squad, he did not get a chance to play in any of the matches.
