Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Monday (4th January) announced the squad for the upcoming ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2023. The governing body has named a strong 15-member squad alongside naming two traveling standby players.

Royal College Colombo’s Sineth Jayawardena will captain the team whereas Malsha Tharupath from Richmond College, Galle will be the vice-captain of the team. The team is filled up with a lot of talented youngsters and would be hoping to bring the glory home.

The upcoming U19 Asia Cup will be a great platform for these young boys to announce their arrival on the big stage on high. Sri Lanka have been a great force in the Asian Cricket and now they would be hoping to turn the tables in the U19 tournament as well and add another title to their kitty.

The young players have been toiling hard in domestic cricket and it’ll be a massive opportunity for them to make themselves name. The tournament will begin on 8th December. Sri Lanka will open their account against Japan at the ICC Academy Oval – 2.
