Steve Smith Goes Unsold In IPL Auction 2024

Steve Smith went unsold in the IPL Auction 2024 on December 19, 2023 in Dubai. Steve Smith last played in the IPL 2021 when he plied his trade for Delhi Capitals. In 2021, he played 8 games and managed a modest 152 runs with a top score of 39 before being released by the Delhi-based outfit.

The former Australia captain went unsold in the 2022 auction before keeping himself out of the auction for IPL 2023.

So far, he has plied his trade for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Pune Warriors India, Rajasthan Royals, and Rising Pune Supergiant in the IPL. Overall, he has played 103 games in the IPL so far and has scored 2485 runs at an average of 34.51 and a strike rate of 128. Steve Smith has scored 1 century and 11 half-centuries in the tournament.

He recently had a poor outing in the World Cup where he struggled to live up to the expectations. In 10 games, he scored 302 runs at an average of 33.55 and a strike rate of just 80.96.
