Still Thinking Of A Country That Has Given Me A Lot Of Love And Affection- Kevin Pietersen Urges Indians To Stay Safe And Careful
Updated - 11 May 2021, 02:04 PM
Former England captain Kevin Pietersen requests his Indian fans to keep themselves safe and careful from the Cobvid-19 which has taken the country by a storm.
The situation in India have worsened in the past couple of weeks as the country is grappling with the second wave of the deadly virus, recording over 350,000 new cases every day over the last fortnight.
Last Tuesday, the IPL 2021 was suspended due to players and staff members testing positive despite operating inside the tight bio-bubble.
Kevin Pietersen, who was a commentator in the IPL 2021, had left the country and is currently in the Maldives with some other players. On Tuesday, he took to Twitter to express his sorrow over the perturbing covid crisis in India, the country which has showered “a lot of love and affection” on the swashbuckling batsman.
He asks the Indians to be careful, and consoles them for this melancholy time to pass soon; he wrote the tweet in Hindi.
Kevin Pietersen’s translated tweet:
“I may have left India, but I am still thinking of a country that has given me a lot of love and affection. Please people be safe. This time will pass but you have to be careful,” the 40-year-old tweeted.

I actually think that the IPL should move to the UK: Kevin Pietersen
Kevin Pietersen is batting for England to host the remainder of the IPL 2021 since it is unlikely that the tournament will now be continued in India. The right-hander opines that the IPL has previously been held in South Africa, and the UAE, and this time it could be moved to the UK.
He points out that the window from mid-September to mid-October is available, sandwiched between India’s Test series against England and the T20 World Cup, when the BCCI may conduct the tournament in England.
“I have seen people talking about the UAE as a possible destination to finish the IPL in September but I actually think that the IPL should move to the UK. There is a window in September after the England v India Test series has finished.
All the best Indian players would already be there and all of the best English players would be available as well. Mid-to-late September is the most beautiful time in the UK.
“There is also a good chance that crowds will be allowed in the grounds and there will be great atmospheres. The IPL has been to the UAE, it’s been to South Africa, and I think England would now be the perfect place to house the remaining fixtures,” the former RCB batsman wrote in his column for Betway.
