West Indies spinner, Sunil Narine, and his wife, Anjellia have been blessed with a baby boy. On Monday (February 1),  the superstar cricketer announced the good news by sharing an image of the new member of their family on Instagram.

In December last year, Narine had revealed that they will welcome a boy after a gender-reveal ceremony in Trinidad and Tobago. A few months before that, the 32-year-old had first announced through an Instagram post that he and his wife are expecting a child.

Wishes galore on his Instagram as soon as Narine posted the photo of his newborn. From cricketers to their wives and Sunil Narine’s fans, all poured in their congratulations for the newly became parents.

“You fill a place in our heart that we never knew was empty, we have seen all of God’s goodness and grace in one tiny face. We love you unconditionally -Dad & Mom”, captioned Sunil Narine with the photo of his son.

Unfortunately, Narine couldn’t be with his wife and family because he is currently plying his trade in the Abu Dhabi T10 League in UAE for the Deccan Gladiators. The off-spinner has picked 3 wickets in 3 matches for the Gladiators at an economy of 9.67 – that can be considered fairly good in the 10-over format.

Kolkata Knight Riders retain Sunil Narine for IPL 2021

Sunil Narine has been retained by the Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The IPL 2021 will be an important season in view of Sunil Narine’s career.

A short-format specialist, Narine’s numbers and threat have decreased significantly since his action being remodelled a few times. The mystery seems to have faded away.

Although the Mohawk hairstyled bowling all-rounder has been retained by the Eoin Morgan-led side, if he doesn’t perform up to the billings this season, Narine could well be released by KKR next year. He was disappointing in IPL 2020 managing to bag just 5 wickets in 10 matches – the team clearly suffered due to injury-marred seasons of Sunil Narine and Andre Russell.

Narine’s form will also be imperative to the West Indies team, who will defend their T20 World Cup title later in the year.
