Veteran spinner Imran Tahir has felt that the cricket fans around the world will love to see big Indian names feature in franchise cricket abroad with the amount of talent India possesses. As per BCCI regulations, Indian cricketers are allowed to play in foreign leagues after they have retired from both international and domestic cricket. Also, the player becomes ineligible to play in IPL if he takes part in foreign leagues.

Imran Tahir is currently representing the Deccan Gladiators in the Abu Dhabi T10 league. Indian domestic players have a great platform of IPL where all the big names in the world take part and the foreign leagues are not essential for youngsters. Imran Tahir who has retired from international cricket is still playing IPL at the age of 41 for the Chennai Super Kings and has got better with years passing by.

“It’s Always Nice To Have Indian Players” – Imran Tahir

Imran Tahir has stated that people will be ready to welcome the Indian players in the foreign league and they will love to see the big names feature. Tahir also felt that it would be nice for Indian players to get such love from everywhere in the world. On the reasons for Indian players satisfied with IPL, Tahir told that the Indian domestic structure is good and the players are getting paid enough to stay with the BCCI’s regulations.

“It’s always nice to have Indian players because they are such talented and big names. If they go abroad and play these formats, people will love it, and they will welcome them. It will be very nice for Indian cricket and for places where they go and play.”

“Indian domestic cricket has got a good structure. The players get paid very well. And that’s why they don’t like to go to other countries where they can get to play T20s. Other guys (from other countries) need to look for opportunities elsewhere if they are not getting paid well,” said Imran Tahir to Sportskeeda.

Tahir Explains His Team Culture With Deccan Gladiators

Tahir expressed his pride in playing Deccan Gladiators and told that they are living as a family in the bubble. He told me that there is a good mixture of big names and junior cricketers getting to know each other and praised the team culture as being really good.

“It is the first time I am representing Deccan Gladiators. We have got a good mixture of players. We have world-class players with some junior players coming in from the system. It’s really exciting to see that. We have got people from all over the world. You get to know each other. You know their culture. And then, you can share your culture with them. It’s amazing.”

“We are living as a family especially in the bubble. We really want to do well for Deccan Gladiators. And hopefully, we will,” he added.

Deccan Gladiators have played two games in the league so far with a win and a loss under the leadership of Kieron Pollard.
