Former Australia cricketer Troy Cooley is reportedly set to be the bowling coach of the Indian women’s team for the upcoming series against England and Australia. India will host the giants of women’s cricket in an action-packed home season.

The season will begin with a three-match T20I series between India and England. The entire series will be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After the T20Is, India and England will lock horns against each other in a four-day Test, scheduled to take place from December 14th to 17th at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

After England’s departure, India will welcome Australia for a multi-format series. Australia’s tour of India will begin with a Test at the Wankhede Stadium before both teams take on each other in six white-ball matches. They are scheduled to play three ODIs and as many T20Is at the DY Patil Stadium.

Troy Cooley to be India’s bowling coach:

According to a report in the Times of India, Troy Cooley has already linked up with the team in Mumbai and will be the bowling coach for the home series against England and Australia.

“Troy has joined the team today in Mumbai,” a source told the news outlet.

Troy Cooley has been serving as the fast bowling coach at the BCCI’s National Cricket Academy in Bangalore since 2021. He also served as the bowling coach of the Indian women’s team in the T20 World Cup in South Africa in February this year. In October, he was also the bowling coach of the Rest of India team for the Irani Cup match against Saurashtra.

Troy Cooley did not play in international cricket but played 33 first-class games for Tasmania and picked up 54 wickets. India will also have a new head coach in place for the upcoming series. Former Mumbai batter Amol Muzumdar will start his stint as the head coach with the upcoming series.
