Yash Dhull is set to be one of the youngest players to have ever captained Delhi. Reportedly, the DDCA brass wanted to carry out the tough transition and hence they have decided to hand the captaincy to Dhull.

Somewhere we had to draw the line. We need to have a transition being carried out. Pradeep Sangwan, last year’s captain, had to be dropped as he hasn’t been measuring up,” a source close to DDCA selection committee told PTI on condition of anonymity.

The 100-Test veteran Ishant Sharma, who is out of India’s scheme of things, has been included in the squad for the first two Ranji Trophy games against Maharashtra and Assam.

Ishant has also been given a couple of games. Let’s hope he shoulders more responsibility,” the source said.
