Indian captain, Virat Kohli has made changes to the bio of his Twitter handle after he and his wife, Anushka Sharma were blessed with their first child. Anushka Sharma gave birth to a baby girl on 11th January.

Virat Kohli, happily, took to social media to announce the good news of the birth of his daughter. He thanked his fans for their incessant love and support. He also urged the media to give the family some privacy.

“We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Love, Virat,” tweeted Virat Kohli.

His new Twitter bio now reads, “A proud husband and father”.

Talking about cricket, Virat Kohli returned to India after the first Test match in Adelaide of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia to attend the birth of his child, missing the next three Tests. Virat Kohli will be seen back in action soon when India host England for a full-fledged tour.

The 4-match Test series commences on 5th February; Chennai and Ahmedabad will host two Tests each. The Test series will be followed by 5 T20I in Ahmedabad and 3 ODIs in Pune.

The right-hander had an ordinary 2020 with the bat – Kohli couldn’t manage a single century last year – and with the T20 World Cup and important series against England, both home and away, coming up, it would be imperative that the Indian captain returns to his supreme form once again.
