Virat Kohli Moves Up To 6th Position, KL Rahul Remains At The 2nd Spot In The Latest ICC T20I Rankings

Indian captain, Virat Kohli has made a gain of one spot in the latest T20I batsman rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) after his brilliant performances with the bat in the T20I series in Australia.

England’s middle-order batsman, Dawid Malan with a staggering 915 rating, and Indian opener, Kl Rahul with 816 ratings continue to occupy the top two spots in the shortest formats.

Pakistan’s skipper, Babar Azam is back at the number three spot, pushing down Australia captain, Aaron Finch. South Africa’s middle-order batsman, Rassie van der Dussen also moved up one spot to take the fifth position just above Virat Kohli.

On the other hand, dynamic batters Glenn Maxwell and Colin Munro dropped one slot as Afghanistan’s Hazratullah Zazai reached the 7th position.

These rankings were recorded after the second T20I between New Zealand and Australia. The latest Kiwi revelation, left-hander Devon Conway, who has been in sensational form has leapfrogged several batters to sit on the 17th spot after just 8 T20Is. Opener Martin Guptill jumped three slots to reach the 11th position after his 97-run knock.

While Finch and Maxwell dropped rankings, their teammates, Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade have improved their positions.

No Indian in the top 10 bowlers and all-rounders rankings

Amongst bowlers, leg-spinner Rashid Khan continues to rule the bowling charts, followed by four more spinners in South Africa’s Tabraiz Shamsi, Afghanistan’s Mujeeb Ur Rahman, England’s Adil Rashid, and Australia’s Adam Zampa.

No Indian bowler is present in the top 10 of the T20I bowler’s rankings – Washington Sundar is the highest-ranked Indian at the 12th position.

For the all-rounders tally, Mohammad Nabi, Shakib Al Hasan, and Glenn Maxwell are at the top 3 spots. Once again, no player from the Men in the Blue side in the top 10, or even top 20, T20I all-rounders list.
