Former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq lauded Virat Kohli for a good batting show in the 2nd innings of the ongoing India vs England 3rd Test at Headingley in Leeds. Inzamam-ul-Haq pointed out that Virat Kohli seems in a comfortable zone for the 1st time in the series. The Indian skipper scored unbeaten 45 runs at the stumps of Day 3 at Headingley, reaching his highest individual score in the series so far.

The right-handed batsman struggled to come up with a good knock in the series. Other than the unbeaten 45  in the 2nd innings of the ongoing Test, Kohli registered scores of 0, 42, 21, and 7 in the previous 4 innings he batted. He also struggled to save his wicket during the tour, losing his wicket to deliveries on the off-side.

However, the 32-year-old showed great compassion in the 2nd innings of the ongoing 3rd Test. Along with his 45 runs, he has also managed an unbeaten stand of 99 runs with Cheteshwar Pujara.

Virat Kohli Has Been Comfortable On Crease For First Time: Inzamam-ul-Haq

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Former Pakistan cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq said that he feels that Virat Kohli has been comfortable on the crease for the first time in the series.

“I feel that Kohli has been comfortable on the crease for the first time in the series, where the ball is coming onto his bat. I now see him in a comfortable zone, his comfort levels will increase after he reaches 50”, he said.

The 51-year-old also mentioned that if Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara’s partnership goes big, then England might come into trouble.

“If this partnership gets even bigger, on the fifth day, if England get a target over 150, then I’m telling you that it will be very hard. These two can do it, the way they played on Day 3. England batsmen played well in the first innings against Indian bowlers, but it could be reversed in the final innings,” Inzamam further said.
