VVS Laxman Feels Sachin Is A Role Model

VVS Laxman mentioned that he has played with the great man Sachin Tendulkar for a long time and he was appreciative for the way Sachin adapted to various captains despite being a senior batsman. He was particularly impressed with the way Sachin allowed the captains to flourish by playing a lot of important knocks and served as a role model for the youngsters.

“I’ve played alongside him for so long. Sachin played under different captains. I think in 2000 he decided that he is not going to captain anymore. And such a senior player, such a legend of the game.

“But to adjust & contribute to the progress of Indian cricket under different captains, and to help them flourish as captains, is something only a role model and inspiration like Sachin can do – which he did really good,”  VVS Laxman said on Star Sports show.

VVS Laxman Reminds The Legacy Sachin Has Left Back

Laxman mentioned the legacy that Sachin has left behind after retirement with his 100 centuries in international cricket which is going to be very tough to break. He also added about the chat Sachin had with Kane Williamson on his debut test in Ahmedabad which would have been an integral part in the development of the current  New Zealand captain.

“The legacy that he left-back is not only scoring hundreds, double hundreds, 100 hundreds, but also the way he inspired the younger generation of Indian cricketers and the world cricketers. I still remember, Kane Williamson in his debut Test match in Ahmedabad; chatting with Sachin, understanding the game,” he added.
