Was Disheartened When I Got To Know I'm Not Playing In Adelaide - Rishabh Pant On BGT 2020-21 Series

Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant was primarily responsible for India’s stunning comeback in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21 series against Australia.
He took the team home in the fifth-day run chase at the Gabba to help India win the series by a 2-1 margin, after losing the first Test in Adelaide courtesy of the infamous 36-all out in the third innings.
Pant was warming the bench during the first Test, something he hadn’t expected after arriving in the country. Wriddhiman Saha was given the keeping gloves and Pant said he was disappointed.
“Rishabh Pant was expecting to play the first game” – Ajinkya Rahane
During the same documentary, Rahane revealed that the team knew of Pant’s intentions to play but the management opted to go with Saha due to the experience the Bengal keeper carries in his kitty.

“He was expecting to play the first game but we went with Wriddhiman because he was a senior player,” Rahane had said about playing Saha ahead of Pant.
Pant has made huge progress in terms of his career in Tests. He is also currently leading the Indian team in the 5-match T20I series against South Africa at home.
