Indian women’s team batter Punam Raut showed sportsmanship spirit in the ongoing pink-ball day-night Test match against Australia.
In the 81st over bowled by Australian spinner Sophie Molineux, there was a low-confidence appeal from the fielders for caught behind.

The umpire shook his head, turn down the decision but Raut started walking on her way to the pavilion as she knew that she had nicked the ball and was applauded by her teammates in the dugout.

Raut scored 36 runs from 165 balls and was involved in a partnership of 102 runs with opener Smirti Mandhana before the latter departed.
Earlier in the day, Mandhana added 20 more runs to her overnight score of 80 to score her maiden Test hundred.

Mandhana pulled Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry for a four to complete her maiden Test hundred as she survived a dismissal against the same bowler in the 46th over.
Perry had got the left-handed batter caught on the second ball of her over but she had overstepped that gave the Indian player a life to reach the milestone. The southpaw smashed 22 fours and a six against Tahlia McGrath’s bowling in her spectacular knock.
Mandhana’s knock powered India to post 276/5 as the match was halted owing to bad weather conditions for the second day in a row.
On Day 1, Mandhana started with plenty of brisk shots as she was involved in a 93-run stand with Shafali Verma before the teenager holed out to McGrath at mid-off with a tired shot off Molineux’s bowling.
Debutant Yastika Bhatia scored 19 with the help of three boundaries and skipper Mithali Raj was ran out by Annabel Sutherland while she was batting at 30.
