Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir continues to bluster against the Pakistan management, led by head coach Misbah-ul-Haq, accusing them of not backing the players who lost their form.

Last year in December, Mohammad Amir took a sudden retirement from international cricket, at the age of 29, and lashed out at the Pakistan management, which also includes Waqar Younis, and skipper Babar Azam, and the selectors.

The pacer, who took over 250 wickets in international cricket, says the management should back players when they are out of form knowing their ability to win games in the past.

“Never doubt those players who have won games for you in the past. Never doubt their ability due to statistics. Rather than focusing too much on statistics, you must see whether the player has the ability to win games for Pakistan from difficult situations. When a player is in a bad phase, that is when the team management and fans need to back him the most,” Mohammad Amir said.

The left-arm speedster further criticized the management saying that they don’t show support for someone who hasn’t performed well in the given chances.

Mohammad Amir reckons, in Pakistan, the player is not advised anything such as go back to domestic cricket and perform there to make a comeback, instead the player is straightaway discarded as not good enough for the highest level.

“When a player doesn’t perform even after getting ample chances, the management must tell the player to go back to domestic cricket and perform so that he could make a comeback into the national team. But here (in Pakistan) they say his career is over, he is not good enough anymore,” the 29-year-old commented.

The fast bowler has applied for British citizenship, for his wife is from the UK. This would mean that he would be eligible to play in the IPL if he attains the England citizenship. Earlier, former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood has played in the IPL for Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders after attaining a British visa.
