Following Australia’s victory over South Africa in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup held at Newlands on Sunday, the ICC has announced the Most Valuable Team of the Tournament.
As expected, four players from the victorious Australian team were included in the team, while the South African team had three representatives in the XI. England, India, and West Indies also had players in the final team, and an up-and-coming star from Ireland was named as the 12th player.

South African opener Tazmin Brits and Australia’s Alyssa Healy have bagged the opening spot with a great performance throughout the season. Brits finished with 186 runs at an average greater than 37 and contributed strongly in the field with seven catches, by far the most of the tournament while Healy on the other hand had 189 runs to her name while also scalping 4 wickets.
South Africa Laura Wollvaardt is next in line with a great performance in the ICC tournament scoring 230 runs in the tournament, while England’s Nat Sciver has been announced as the captain for the side as her team reached the semifinals with the skipper scoring 216 runs at an average of 72.
Richa Ghosh Only Indian Player In ICC’s Team Of The Tournament
Australia’s Ash Garner and India’s Richa Ghosh played crucial roles as all-rounders for their respective sides as the two shined with both the bat and the ball and earned a spot in the ICC Team of the Tournament.

English bowler Sophie Ecclestone and Windies spinner Karishma Ramharak were the best spinners in the tournament as they weaved their web picking up 11 and 10 wickets respectively to make their way into the team.
Megan Schutt is leading the pace attack in the team with 10 wickets to her name, she’s joined by the likes of South Africa’s Dhabnim Ismail and fellow Australian teammate Darcie Drown to complete the side.
Ireland’s Orla Prendergast had a good emerging season as she scored 109 runs for her side while picking up three wickets during the group stages and was announced as the 12th player for ICC’s Team of the Tournament.
