Wriddhiman Saha, the wicketkeeper-batsman for India and Gujarat Titans, recalled an occasion in which he decided to open the innings with MS Dhoni during one local tournament in Kolkata.

MS Dhoni is nearing the end of his cricketing career, having resigned from international cricket over two years ago.

The Ranchi-based wicketkeeper-batter hasn’t lost his mojo, and the 40-year-old continues to entertain fans with big hits, which he’s famous for, in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Saha remembered the topic throughout a discussion with the Titans, a video of which will be shared on their social media.

I have learned a lot from him in the past years: Wriddhiman Saha

“The name Mahindra Singh Dhoni is well-known. We once played in a tournament in Kolkata where Dhoni was also invited. I recall Dhoni making his team India debut not long ago and being regarded as one of the most dangerous ball hitters in the game.”

We started the innings together, and I remember I was batting on 36 runs and Dhoni was batting on nine. He told me to ‘take a single and give him a strike,’ and before I knew it, I was still batting on 41 and he had finished his century.

“I’ve learned a lot from him over the years, and we both have the same temperament when it comes to playing the game,” Wriddhiman Saha said.
