The New Zealand tall pacer Kyle Jamieson credited India for the way they have batted out when the conditions didn’t help and also was pleased with his team’s performance too. Jamieson who picked up the crucial breakthrough with the wicket of Rohit Sharma bowled 14 overs in the day with 9 maidens and gave away just 14 runs in his quota.

He kept testing the batsmen with his off-stump line and was looking to deceive the batsmen with his outswingers and inswingers. He managed to get it up right there in the zone and went past Ajinkya Rahane a lot of times. India had a terrific day on the whole with the skipper Virat Kohli and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane holding the key from here on.

Kyle Jamieson Credits India For Staying Patient

Kyle Jamieson mentioned that the game is evenly poised at the moment, and the disruption due to rain probably did not help their momentum to continue. He praised India for waiting for those bad balls and leaving a lot of deliveries on the off stump. He added that the plan was to stick to the off-stump line and restrict the run flow eventually picking up three Indian wickets on whole.

“It was a good day for Test cricket, the disruption probably didn’t help the momentum that we had at that point of time. They played really well, they put away bad balls, and they were patient outside off, our plan was to stick around, keep things restricted and we got three important wickets as well,” Kyle Jamieson Said after the second day’s play.

Kyle Jamieson Stresses On Keeping The Balls In Right Areas

Kyle Jamieson stressed the importance of picking those three wickets after India had started the innings really well and was fluent. He also said that keeping the balls on the tough areas for long periods will certainly help to get a lot more wickets and added that India is one of the top teams in the world for a reason.

It was crucial to try to get balls in reasonable areas for long periods, how we did that throughout the day after they started off well was pretty pleasing, to keep things in the balance. There is a reason why they are one of the top teams in the world for a long period of time.

For us, it was about putting the ball in the right areas and I think we were able to do that for the most part and take that confidence tomorrow,” Kyle Jamieson added.
