Zimbabwe and Afghanistan face one final time in the series in the third and final T20I in Harare on June 14, Tuesday. The Afghans have already won the series having won the first two games. They are now eyeing a clean sweep against the hosts. Zimbabwe meanwhile is yet to win a game in the series so far.
Craig Ervine leads Zimbabwe in the ZIM vs AFG T20I series while Mohammad Nabi leads Afghanistan. Heading into the T20I series, Afghanistan whitewashed the African nation in a three-match ODI series. They won the first ODI by 60 runs. In the second ODI, they won by 8 wickets chasing and in third Afghanistan won by 4 wickets.

Afghanistan won the first T20I by six wickets chasing 160 to win. They won the second T20I by 21 runs as they successfully defended 170. The series has had some big gains for the Afghan side who have found players who are worthy of making the T20 World Cup squad. Nabi along with Rashid Khan and Najibullah Zadran have shared the responsibilities for the side.

The match holds massive importance for Zimbabwe to get at least something out of this series. Afghanistan have completely dominated the Zimbabweans across the games. It’s hard to find any positive for the hosts who have struggled throughout the series to find a win.

So far only 31 T20Is have been played in Harare. The team batting first has won 20 games while the team chasing has won 11. The average first innings score is close to 160 which drops down to 140 while chasing.
