A Large Number Of Members Of Cricket Betting Gang Arrested In Telangana

In Telangana, a 13-member cricket betting gang has been recently arrested along with more than one lakh cash and many instruments.

According to PTI, Ramagundam police has confirmed this news on Saturday (11th May). Ramagundam police commissioner V Satyanarayana claimed that police timely raided some places after getting some information from the source.

Police arrested a 13-member gang who was running an IPL cricket betting. Police also added that two more members of the group ran away.

Apart from arresting 13 members, police also seized Rs. 1.08 lakh, 20 mobile phones and two laptops in that raid.

During every IPL season, many active cricket betting members have been arrested from India’s various places. In recent times, some famous Indian faces have also been alleged for their involvement in IPL betting.

In the ongoing IPL season (IPL 2019), many Indian police have frequently arrested many cricket betting members from various areas.

The present situation of IPL 2019

Meanwhile, the ongoing IPL 2019 is in the final phase. Mumbai Indians (MI) and the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are ready to face each other in the final of this tournament on this Sunday (12th May) night. Both teams have won the IPL trophy for the record three times and both are ready to create a new record. Before the upcoming IPL 2019 final, MI and CSK met thrice in this season and MI won all those matches.

Earlier, in this IPL season, MI finished on top of the points table while CSK and Delhi Capitals (DC) finished in the second and third positions in the points table respectively. Though all of them earned 18 points, MI, CSK and DC stood in the final points table according to the net run rate.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) was the other team to qualify for the Playoffs in IPL 2019. They finished in the fourth position in the points table with 12 points.

The last four teams of IPL 2019 are Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) respectively. While KKR and KXIP earned 12 points each like SRH, RR and RCB both finished with 11 points.

Coming to the IPL 2019 Playoffs, MI was the first team to qualify for the Final after beating CSK by six wickets in the Qualifier 1.

Later, DC advanced to the Qualifier2 after winning their thrilling Eliminator match against SRH by two wickets. However, recently, DC suffered a six-wicket defeat against the defending champions CSK in the Qualifier 2. That Qualifier 2 result helped CSK to reach the IPL 2019 Final while DC finished their IPL 2019 journey.
