Former Indian National Cricket team opener Aakash Chopra has tipped young fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah as the best pacer in the world across all the formats. Meanwhile, Bumrah has done a terrific job to bring himself to this spot since making his international debut.

Jasprit Bumrah’s unorthodox action gave him a head-start that is not available to other bowlers with regular actions. Since his evolution into a top-flight bowler came about while playing white-ball cricket, he has managed to hold on to the qualities essential for succeeding in the shorter formats, while adding those needed to suit the requirements of Test cricket. And Jasprit Bumrah has been terrific in the last year in the longest format of the game. He bagged 49 wickets in his debut Test year to become the Indian bowler with most wickets in the debut year.

In addition to, he was stupendous in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar series. He returned with 21 wickets to become the highest wicket-taker of the series along with Australia’s Nathan Lyon. Moreover, he bagged the player of the match award in Boxing Day Test picking nine wickets to help India take a 2-1 lead. Virat Kohli & Co created history as they became the first Indian team to win a series Down Under in their last 12 attempts.

Aakash Chopra

As a result of his outstanding form, many former greats have tipped him as the best in the business. And now, Aakash Chopra is the new addition in the list to rate Jasprit Bumrah as the best fast bowler in the world.

Rabada is a very fine bowler. I wouldn’t call him an idiot….never. But it’s about all three formats….and yes, Bumrah is the best in the world IMHO. Traaa,” Aakash Chopra tweeted.
