The skipper Aaron Finch has been brilliant for Australia in shorter formats of the game with his batsmanship and captaincy. The flamboyant cricketer, who was also asked to open in Test cricket failed to deliver things in the same way, which saw him being dropped from the team.

However, Aaron Finch doesn’t want to lose his confidence and quoted that he would give one more shot at the longer version of the game. Aaron Finch is clear that he would give his best to take the place in Test Cricket and will accept whatever the result would be.

I’ve got one really good crack at it left in me – Aaron Finch

Australia’s limited-overs captain Aaron Finch said he wants to have another ‘good crack’ at Test cricket, a format which he played briefly last summer. Finch was picked in the Australian Test side against Pakistan in UAE last year after Cameron Bancroft, David Warner and Steve Smith were suspended for ball-tampering.

“For me personally, it’s about probably having one really good crack at trying to get back to the Test team again,” Finch was quoted as saying by SEN radio station. The young guys who came in and did well throughout the back half of last summer did a really good job. I still think that I’ve got one really good crack at it left in me,” he added.

I have one more push in it for myself:

Australia are scheduled to host Pakistan in the month of November for a series of 3 T20Is followed by 2 Tests. Before that, there will be four Sheffield Shield games which Finch is eyeing to use as a platform for making his presence felt.

“Kurtis got a hundred in the last Test that he played. Will Pucovski and that entire yield of youthful hitters who are coming through are so skilled, so I think I have one more push in it for myself. If it doesn’t occur, at that point it doesn’t occur. I’m OK with that. It will be decent to play a couple of Shield games straight to be fair. It’s been some time since I’ve played more than one in a row,” Australia’s ODI and T20 captain said.

Well, it would be interesting to see whether the opening batsman Aaron Finch gets the nod for the upcoming series against Pakistan or not. Australia is facing tough times with David Warner, Cameron Bancroft and Marcus Harris failing to show their calibre at the opening slot.
