People from across the country are currently busy watching Ramayan during the lockdown. At the start of the lockdown, people requested the government to telecast the show again and the request was accepted straightaway. The show’s reruns on Doordarshan have made it the most watched series in India amid the lockdown.

Ramayan first aired on Doordarshan in 1987 and soon acquired cult status. And it is safe to say that its popularity has still not decreased. Just like common people, cricket legend Virender Sehwag has also been busying watching the iconic show. And the former India opener could not help but post a hilarious message inspired by Ramayan.

On Sunday, the show showed the episode in which Angad visited Ravana’s court to offer him a peace treaty. When Ravana rejected the proposal, Angad gave him another offer. He said that if anyone in the court could lift his leg, his entire army would accept defeat and leave Lanka.

But no one could even move his leg, let alone lifting it. Inspired by that episode, Virender Sehwag, who is known for his witty remarks on Twitter, took to the social media platform to post a hilarious tweet. Virender Sehwag said that he took his batting inspiration from Angad and thus never believed in footwork while batting.

“So here is where i took my batting inspiration from 🙂 Pair hilana mushkil hi nahi , namumkin hai . #Angad ji Rocks,” wrote Virender Sehwag.

Virender Sehwag redefined with his playing style. While he did not believe in footwork, it did not stop him from taking the bowlers to the cleaners. He is considered as one of the most destructive batsmen of all time. Two triple centuries in Tests and a double century in ODIs just speak volume of his batting ability.
