Kedar Jadhav, with his part-time off-spin, has provided India with quite a few breakthroughs. His ‘golden arm’ has come in handy for the national team in the past and his low-lying slinging action has often been a much talked topic around the cricket fraternity. In an interaction session for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Kedar Jadhav opened up about his bowling action which has unsettled a few batsmen.

In the interaction, Kedar Jadhav, who is currently out of favour from the national team also spoke about how former India coach Anil Kumble supported his action, and later MS Dhoni used his bowling to the fore. However, due to decline in form and inconsistency, Kedar Jadhav has not been able to cement his place in the side.

Kedar Jadhav, recalled bowling for the first time at nets, under the watchful eyes of former India head coach Anil Kumble. Jadhav said, Kumble supported him, saying it is a legal delivery and will not get him in trouble. It was then MS Dhoni who brought out the best from the part-time spinner.

“I tried it at the nets. That time Anil (Kumble) bhai was the coach and he said no it’s legal. Then in the 1st ODI, I got Jimmy Neesham out (caught and bowled),” Kedar Jadhav said.

“That was my first wicket and then Mahi bhai gave me the confidence that I can bowl. I had not bowled much in domestic cricket also. But it was because of him that I got confidence,” he added.

Jadhav has picked 27 ODI wickets at an economy rate of 5.15. He has the best bowling figures of 3/23 in the format besides scoring over 1300 runs at an average of 42.09.
