Arbaaz Khan Addicted to Cricket betting, Was Rebuked by Salman Khan: Report

Bollywood actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, although, revealed for placing bets during the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in the past, it has come out he is addicted to cricket betting.

Meanwhile, the Thane Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) questioned Arbaaz for four hours on Saturday (June 2).

Arbaaz reportedly confessed that he had placed bets on certain IPL matches. Moreover, he had allegedly lost INR 2.75 crore in bets.

However, Arbaaz’s name cropped up during an interrogation of bookie Sonu Jalan. AEC arrested Jalan on May 29 from Domvibli.

According to a report in DNA, Bollywood superstar and brother of Arbaaz, Salman Khan reprimanded former for his addiction in cricket betting.

Moreover, it was also one of the reasons for his divorce from an actor Malaika Arora, DNA quotes a source.

Following grilling, Arbaaz also admitted that he knew the main accused, Jalan, for six years during an interrogation.

Will continue to cooperate with police:

Meanwhile, the police reportedly said Arbaaz could be made the prime witness in the ongoing IPL batting case.

In addition, the names of two Bollywood producers also cropped up during questioning on Saturday.

On Saturday (June 2), Arbaaz Khan reiterated he will continue to cooperate with the police in an ongoing investigation.

My statement has been recorded. The police asked whatever they needed in this investigation and I answered them. I will continue to cooperate with them,” he said.

Betting in cricket, however, is prevalent over the years and has intensified ever since the inception of IPL.

Previously, in 2013, Police arrested actor Vindu Dara Singh for his alleged involvement in IPL betting scandal that rocked the cricket fraternity.

BCCI also suspended Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royal (RR) for two years following the scandal way back in 2013.
