Arjun Tendulkar, better known as the son of the legendary cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar recently got named in Mumbai U-19 squad for the 6th All India U-19 JY Lele Invitational One Day tournament, slated to be played on 16th September in Vadodara.

Arjun Tendulkar is back to the field

Suved Parkar, however, will lead the squad which was announced by the Mumbai Cricket Association joint secretary, Unmesh Khanvilkar in a statement in Mumbai.

However, the 18-year-old, Arjun is a left-arm pacer and also bats in the lower middle-order. He made his India U-19 debut against Sri Lanka in the 1st Youth Test against the Islanders at Colombo in July. Meanwhile, Arjun has also bowled to the Indian and the English national teams in the nets.

The rise of Arjun Tendulkar has been a steady one 

The rise of Arjun has been a steady one. He bagged his maiden U-19 India wicket very early. He was bowling his first spell when he bagged his maiden wicket in national colours.

However, Arjun was not able to prove his worth with the bat in hand. As the series progressed, the performance of Arjun Tendulkar dipped considerably. He also did not get selected for the five Youth ODI’s which followed after the two-match Test series.
