Arjun Tendulkar impressed once again for Mumbai to help his side crush Assam by 10 wickets in Round 8 of the ongoing Vinoo Mankad Trophy under-19 one day limited overs zonal league match on Tuesday at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, Surat.

Arjun starred with the ball, picking up 3 for just 14 runs off seven overs. His spell also contained a couple of maiden overs. He first accounted for Assam’s opener Danish Ahmed for one. In his second spell, he removed Hrishikesh Borah (1) and Rituraj Biswas (0). Assam kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for just 99.

The other bowlers who impressed other than Arjun were Atharva Poojari claiming 1 for 11 in five overs and Divyaansh claiming 2 for 6 in his 5.4 overs.

In reply, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Suved Parkar knocked off the runs in 21.5 overs. Yashaswi scored 56 off 65 while Parkar made 41 off 66.

Arjun had also starred for Mumbai in their tournament-opener. The left-arm pacer had wrecked havoc through the Gujarat batting lineup by claiming a five-wicket haul in the 8.2 overs while conceding only 30 runs. The 19 year-old’s stunning spell helped Mumbai bundle Gujarat out for just 142.

Earlier this year, Arjun Tendulkar announced his arrival to the Indian cricketing arena by earning his maiden call-up from India’s Under-19 team. He was a part of the team for the Youth Tests in Sri Lanka. Arjun had gone on the make a name for himself by claiming his first wicket in his very first over. He, however, did not play in the subsequent Youth ODI series.
