Asia Cup 2018: 6th Match, Bangladesh vs Afghanistan - Bangladesh's Predicted XI

Bangladesh will be taking on Afghanistan in the clash for table-toppers of Group B in Asia Cup 2018.

Both the teams already made it to the next level of the tournament, and it is the best time for both the sides to look after their reserved players and experiments. Meanwhile, we figured out Bangladesh’s predicted XI against Afghanistan.

Here is Bangladesh’s predicted XI against Afghanistan:

1. Liton Das –

The much able youngster walked back on a duck in the game against Sri Lanka. He was outclassed by Lasith Malinga in the first game with a stunning delivery. Meanwhile, he will once again take the opening position for the team. In the absence of Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das needs to have the onus on him.

2. Mominul Haque –

The possible replacement for Tamim Iqbal in the team is Mominul Haque. He has been the late addition to the squad but has got the required ingredients in him to take away the game from the opposition. This is also the best chance for the youngster to cement his place in the team for a long time.

3. Shakib Al Hasan –

The number one all-rounder disappointed the fans with a golden duck in the first game. However, it was a peach of the delivery from Lasith Malinga that can be dealt by only a few batsmen in the world. Meanwhile, he will try to get back to his zone in the game against Afghanistan to deal with the stronger teams in next level of the Asia Cup 2018.

4. Mushfiqur Rahim –

The classy right-handed batsman was fantabulous for Bangladesh in the first game of Asia Cup 2018. His incredible 144-run knock helped Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 137 runs. He would like to continue his golden patch with his willow against Afganistan as well.

5. Mohammed Mithun –

The youngster showed his guts during the game against Sri Lanka. He stood for the team when it mattered the most and gave an ample support for Mushfiqur Rahim in his marathon knock. However, he will once again take the field with the same amount of confidence to finish the group stage at number one in the Asia Cup 2018.

6. Mahmadullah Riyad –

The talented batsman hasn’t fared well enough for Bangladesh in the first game of the tournament. However, he would like to get into the groove by taking the match against Afghanistan, as a good warm-up. Mahmadullah might also need to deliver the goods with his bowling as well.

7. Mosaddek Hossain –

Another exciting all-rounder in the camp will also take the field against Afghanistan. He is that kind of a player who will be needed for the skipper when the things aren’t going likely for the team. He rattled the crucial wicket of Dilruwan Perera which called the curtains on Sri Lanka’s hopes in chasing a moderate tally.

8. Mashrafe Mortaza –

The skipper led the team from the front in the game against Sri Lanka and once again, he will be the vital cog for Bangladesh. The classy skipper bowled his heart out with the new ball to dent Sri Lankan top-order. It would be interesting to see how Mortaza will use his resources as the game against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2018 is less harmful.

9. Mustafizur Rahman –

The left-handed fast bowler will take the field again for Bangladesh. He has been the lethal bowler for his team and proved his mettle against Sri Lanka as well.

The tricky customer bowled economical in the previous game and will hold the key against Afghanistan batsman who would love to go hard at bowlers.

10. Mehidy Hasan –

The off-spinner had an eventful day against Sri Lanka and he would love to bag one more good day in the office. His skills to keep the batsman calm is a massive boost for the team. With Afghanistan batsman love to take on the spinners, Mehidy Hasan’s role will be intriguing to watch.

11. Rubel Hossain –

The premium fast bowler for Bangladesh will hold the key for Bangladesh against Afghanistan’s batting attack. The associate batsmen looked little rusty against pace in their previous game which would make Rubel Hossain a dangerous customer. It would be interesting to see how things would turn out for Rubel Hossain against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2018.
