Asia Cup 2018: Super Four, Match 3 – India vs Pakistan – India’s Players Rating
Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma were in merciless form as India romped to a nine-wicket win over Pakistan in the Super Four phase of the Asia Cup in Dubai.
Meanwhile, set 238 for victory, Dhawan (114 off 100) and Sharma (111* off 119) each hit imperious centuries as India reached their target with 63 balls to spare.
However, Pakistan’s total of 237/7 always looked below par after they had won the toss and elected to bat, but it could have been even worse were it not for a fourth-wicket stand of 107 between Shoaib Malik (78 off 90) and captain Sarfraz Ahmed (44 off 66).
Here is the players rating of match 3 of the Super Four clash between India and Pakistan in this Asia Cup 2018:
SHIKHAR DHAWAN (9.5/10)
The opening partnerships have been the key to India’s success in the ongoing tournament. Shikhar Dhawan backed his prime form with a hundred, however, will feel sad for completing the game.
Dhawan scored 114 runs off 100 balls including 16 boundaries and two sixes.
ROHIT SHARMA (C) (10/10)
Rohit Sharma has been spectacular for his side leading his team from the front in this Asia Cup. After a string of mid-scores, he scored an unbeaten century to his side home in the all-important clash against Pakistan.
He will be keen to continue this form and return home with the trophy.
AMBATI RAYUDU (6/10)
Ambati Rayudu chipped in with an unbeaten 12 before Rohit Sharma saw his team through in the clash against Pakistan. Meanwhile, Rayudu is capitalising on the opportunity and will look to continue doing so.
DINESH KARTHIK (0/10)
Dinesh Karthik also had no role to play in this game as the top-order batters did the job for Team India.
MS DHONI (WK) (2/10)
MS Dhoni had no role to play with the bat in this Super Four encounter. However, his presence in the field is always an added advantage for any team and it was no different today.
KEDAR JADHAV (3/10)
Kedar Jadhav had a very minimal role to play as he bowled only three overs giving away 20 runs. However, he is yet to show his potential with the bat in this ongoing Asia Cup.
RAVINDRA JADEJA (3.5/10)
Ravindra Jadeja, after making a spectacular comeback had a very off-colour day as the Pakistan batsmen were harsh against him. He gave away 50 runs from his nine overs without a wicket to his name.
Jadeja, however, will be desperate to utilise this opportunity to full effect.
BHUVNESHWAR KUMAR (4.5/10)
Bhuvneshwar Kumar had a rare off-day in business at the end of India’s clash against Pakistan. However, he created opportunities with the ball but the batsmen found a way to overcome him.
India will want Bhuvneshwar Kumar in his top form in the remaining two games of this Asia Cup.
KULDEEP YADAV (6.5/10)
Kuldeep Yadav was also among the wickets bagging two for 41 in his ten overs against Pakistan. Furthermore, Kuldeep will be keen to continue picking wicket and help his team win matches.
JASPRIT BUMRAH (8.5/10)
Jasprit Bumrah has been the consistent performer since making his grand entry in the international scene. He stood tall in the marquee clash returning with figures of 2 for 29 in his 10 overs.
India will want him to continue this effort in the remainder of the Asia Cup.
YUZVENDRA CHAHAL (6/10)
Yuzvendra Chahal was spectacular in his opening spell drawing the first blood for his side. He came back, in the end, to dismiss the dangerous looking Asif Ali to return with 2 for 46 in his nine overs.
