Asia Cup 2018: Twitter Erupts as Lasith Malinga Stages a Grand Comeback

In the ongoing Asia Cup 2018, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are playing the opening match wherein Lasith Malinga picked up the first two wickets for his team.

Bangladesh had won the toss, and they have decided to bat first. However, the opening pair of Bangladesh couldn’t do much, and they lost their two wickets in the first over with just one run in the scoreboard.

The veteran fast bowler had been written off after his poor exploits against India last over, and thus remained out of the side for over 12 months. However, Lasith Malinga got himself in the playing XI in the match against Bangladesh. Moreover, he picked up the first two wickets of Liton Das and Shakib Al Hasan and started his journey on a good note.

However, Liton Das was the first one to get out. Malinga pitched it up for the right-hander, and he edged one towards the slip cordon where Kusal Mendis completed the catch. On the very next delivery, Malinga clean bowled senior campaigner Shakib Al Hasan with a brilliant inswinging yorker. The stumps were crashed, and Malinga and the Sri Lanka team got delighted.
