A win in the third One-day international will go a long way in ensuring India remaining in good stead for the remainder of the tour. While the ODI series has already been surrendered, India will desperately try for a win to regain their confidence that they lost as Australia belted two 350 plus scores against their bowling attack. A victory in Canberra will keep the visitors’ campaign in Australia from disintegrating further.
India would also be bolstered by the absence of David Warner and Pat Cummins until the Test series. With the selectors allowing David Warner to recover from the groin injury and keeping Cummins fresh for the red-ball fixtures, the visitors will feel a lot more secure and confident in earning a consolation victory. However, they certainly need to improve their lacklustre bowling performance.
We take a look at India’s predicted XI ahead of their third ODI against Australia:
Mayank Agarwal has made brisk starts in both the matches, racking scores of 28 and 22 by playing some picturesque shots in the powerplay overs. However, the Australian pacers have got the better of him and it is indeed due to his lack of experience of playing in Australia. He will want at least a fifty under his belt in his 12th ODI game.
