Australia vs India 2018: 'Rohit Should Open in Shaw's Absence', Suggests Twitterati

Ahead of the first Test between India and Australia in Adelaide, Prithvi Shaw got ruled out after sustaining an ankle injury during the practice game against CA XI. However, the fans want Rohit Sharma to open the innings in his place despite India having two regular openers in KL Rahul and Murali Vijay.

Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw recently emerged into the Indian side when he played his first Test against the Windies in October. He had made some great footprint scoring his maiden hundred in his first match. However, got ruled of the first Test in Adelaide, and a replacement is yet to be named. However, the Twitterati have come up with some suggestions for team India and captain Virat Kohli.

Moreover, Prithvi Shaw kept on doing well since emerging on the international scene. During his maiden stint on the Australia soil with the senior team, Shaw hit a 69-ball 66 in the first innings. His innings was well-guided with some lusty strokes both on and off the field.

Much to everyone’s disappointment, the 19-year-old had sustained a horrific injury during the third day’s play at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). However, the scans revealed he had suffered a lateral ligament injury. For now, Prithvi Shaw will be undergoing an “intensive rehabilitation program” to recover for the forthcoming games at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has been on the right track since the Asia Cup 2018. The India vice-captain in the limited-overs had struck hundred against the Windies at home. Even in the practice game against CA XI, he scored 40 runs.
