Well, in all likelihood, the newbie in the cricket block, Marcus Harris will take the guard for Australia once again as the opener. Perhaps, this is the time for Harris to thrown one steady knock for the team management in order to be retained for the future games. So far, he got the decent starts but failed to utilise them to the perfection.

2. Usman Khawaja:

It might be a surprise for you but the latest reports suggest that Usman Khawaja is going to open in the SCG Test. It is known territory for Khawaja, who played a decent enough cricket at that position. During the course, the opener in the last three games, Aaron Finch might be dropped for the final Test or could be switched to middle-order.

3. Marnus Labuschagne:

In one of those surprises, Australia might ask the youngster to take the number 3 role for Australia in the fourth and final Test of the series. The reports surfaced that he was asked to play at that role in the final session of the training on Wednesday. Besides that, his bowling will help Australia in delivering the goods.

4. Shaun Marsh:

Well, the stylish southpaw would once again take the same role for the hosts. So far, he is one of the few batsmen to get runs for Australia. The team management would once again hope him to do that for the team.

5. Travis Head:

Yet another batsman, who is one of the few batsmen to score runs for Australia. Most probably, he will continue to play at the very same role for the team during Sydney Test. Head was the decent run-scorer against Pakistan as well.

6. Tim Paine:

It seems like Tim Paine would promote himself in the batting section for the final Test. So far, Tim Paine played somewhat better than the rest at the lower order. But, unfortunately, the wickets at the other end pushed him for scoring runs. Perhaps, he would bat at number 6.

7. Mitchell Marsh:

The hosts could give one more chance for Mitchell Marsh to show his mojo for the team. He has got the serious threat with Peter Handscomb, who is pushing for a place with decent scores in Big Bash while staying away from the team. However, his fast bowling would save him for the final Test. If they consider only batting Peter Handscomb could take the position.

8. Nathan Lyon:

Without any ray of doubt, Nathan Lyon will find a place in the side. He has got the knack of picking wickets and on a spin pitch like Sydney, expect a cracking show from the off-spinner. The team management would hope a match-winning performance from him.

9. Pat Cummins:

Can Australia go without him for the must-win clash? Pat Cummins was superb in all sections of the game in the third Test and would once again play a role in the final Test as well.

10. Mitchell Starc:

Starc is another certain candidate to be placed in the playing XI chart. His pace will certainly make him the centre of attraction during the final Test of the series. Besides that, he can be helpful for the team with his willow as well.

11. Josh Hazlewood:

Yet another certain player to be present in the playing XI. He got that knack of delivering goods with new and old ball for the team. If Australia won’t consider any change in tactics by bringing in Peter Siddle, Australia would go with Josh Hazlewood.
