Former Australian Cricket team player Dean Jones feels that current limited-overs skipper Aaron Finch needs to work on his technique following his poor show in the ODI series against Indian National Cricket team.
Meanwhile, Finch has struggled to provide poor starts in the three-match series. He has had figures of 6,6, and 14 in the three-games as Australia will worry over their opening pair with the ICC World Cup in sight. Dean Jones believes Aaron Finch needs to change his techniques as there is a pattern in his dismissals.
“Skipper Aaron Finch needs to work on his technique, as he has got out bowled or leg-before seven times in the last eight ODIs. His dismissal read as: bowled, LBW, bowled, LBW, bowled, caught, bowled, bowled. So they have a measure of him,” Jones wrote in TOI.
Jones hails Virat Kohli
Dean Jones also shared high praise on Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who became the first Indian captain to win a Test series in Australia. The Asian giants defeated the hosts Aussies 2-1 in the four-match Border-Gavaskar Test series. Kohli also brought his 39th ODI hundred in the last game at the Adelaide.
“I’ve noticed now that 32 of Kohli’s 39 ODI hundred have come in a winning cause. He has now 11 hundred in Australia, the most in all formats by visiting batsmen. He is such a magnificent player and I get the feeling, with all due respect to Sachin Tendulkar, he will be the greatest ODI batsman of all,” Jones added.
In conclusion, Dean Jones hailed Dinesh Karthik and MS Dhoni’s match-winning partnership at the Adelaide Oval.
